Inquiry Squirrel is a Shopify add-on application that can be installed from the Shopify App store with a couple of clicks.
Once Inquiry Squirrel is installed on your Shopify store, whenever a visitor to your store (let's call her "Suzy Shopper") is looking at a product variant that's out-of-stock, she will see an out-of-stock inquiry form inviting her to submit an inquiry and be notified as soon as the product is back in stock.
When Suzy submits the inquiry form we send her a confirmation email confirming that we received her inquiry, and we store her name and email address, along with the product variant she inquired about, in our database.
Once we've got Suzy's precious inquiry "squirreled away" in our database, we check your store's inventory every night to see if the product variant that she inquired about is back in stock. When it is, we send Suzy an email letting her know that her product is avaliable. The email contains a link to the exact product variant that she was interested in, so she's only one click away from adding it to her cart and purchasing it.
